Personal Process Management

Imagine transferring the benefits, methods and tools of BPM into your private life. Complex long living processes would be appropriately supported by cloud based solutions that literally take care of your life. Examples are marriage, buying a house or retirement. All these processes are significant and their intrinsics are typically unknown to the those who are facing these essential life events for the first time. We already see first attempts to provide dedicated support for such life events from a number of state governments (look at Ontario or the WA Government) and insurance companies and financial service providers. However, holistic support that orchestrates services aross a variety of public and private service providers are still the exception. Corporations have not yet explored the commercialization of such personal processes. This is surprising as those processes are the true root cause for most corporate processes, ie no need for a mortgage handling process without the ‘buying a house process’. With the quick adoption of rich end user interfaces (smart phones, tablets) and quickly increasing bandwith (NBN) it will be only a question of time until the
entrepreneurial process mindset will provide personal processes as a service, and we will have increased support for our ‘birth-to-death’ value chain.
